On Sunday next 19th December, the numbers participating in our 4 ball scramble are looking good, with over 120 people playing. A big shout of thanks to Mick Cronin for organizing this.
Our BRS time sheet is full with the first people going out at 8.30am approx and the last going out at 1pm for 12 holes of golf.
Our members get to enjoy a 12 hole scramble and a main course meal for €10. When you sign in on the day you will be asked to pick which main course you wish to have. 1) Roast Turkey & Ham, 2) Fish & Chips, 3) Rye River Burger & Chips.
This is our last competition before Christmas and we hope you enjoy same.
As a little treat to mark our year-end, we will be offering a prize to the person with the best Christmas outfit on the day. The lads in Pro Shop will be the judges and will be taking photos for our website.
Finally, we would like to thank Larry Gough who has recently stepped down as co-coordinator of the volunteers. Larry and his team have done tremendous work in the last six years.

The Joint Club AGM will now be held on Monday 31 January 2022, commencing at 8pm, using remote hosting technology. Members are naturally encouraged to attend this important event. To receive a link to the meeting please either (a) email your name (and email address) to the club OR complete the form available in the Pro shop and hand it in to the staff member on duty.
There are six (6) vacancies to be filled on the 2022 JMC at the AGM. To date, the number of nominations received for these places is well below the number of vacancies. No nomination, as of yet, has been received for the post of Honorary Secretary.
Welcome to new course staff member Owen Kelly who began work on Monday 06 Dec.

On behalf of all members, staff, and club management committees, we wish William Flynn all the best as he finishes up in the club on Friday, 3rd December, to pursue a new career outside of golf. Many thanks, William for all your work and dedication over the 16 years you have been with us.
The first day of laying new grass sods on the 7th and 11th tee boxes is penciled in for Thursday 9th December, weather permitting. Well done and thanks to all involved in this work.
The club’s Joint Management Committee is meeting (remotely) on Monday night to set a new date for the Joint Club AGM.
One of the facilities at the club that we may not notice or simply accept as always being there is the large machinery shed. This is a fine structure is the envy of many clubs. Well done to those who had the foresight so many years ago to appreciate the importance of having proper storage facilities for machinery and, more particularly, the courage to find the funds required for its construction.
