I hope this weeks newsletter finds you all safe and well. I want to start by thanking everyone for their ongoing support and understanding at this unprecedented time and I also wanted to bring you up to speed with what’s been happening at Kilcock Golf Club. All this week, we have been busy preparing the venue for re-opening, we have installed signage, hand sanitizing stations, protective screens and invested in new PPE both on and off the golf course.
We are excited to get back playing golf but it is important to note that at this moment, we do not have a definite date for when that will be. We are awaiting Government advice as to what the next phase of living with Covid19 will look like and what it will mean for those of us who love the game of golf.
It is anticipated that Government will announce a Road Map for how restrictions may be phased out this Friday. We will monitor this closely. There has been a lot of speculation in the media about golf being one of the first sports to re-open but in the absence of clear Government advice, it would be remiss to speculate at this time of National Emergency.
What I can say, we are prepared for re-opening, we are ready to welcome you back. The golf course is immaculate and the team have been outstanding in keeping it to its usual very high standards. Rob, Richard, William and Peter, I thank you sincerely for going above and beyond.
Our priority will always be the safety and well-being of the team and all those who enjoy our wonderful facility. On that note, how we use the facility will be very different when you return, we will operate a strict social distancing policy, online booking, contactless payments, a new flow through the Golf Shop to name but a few. It is imperative that members respect these new guidelines and follow staff instructions, all of which are geared towards keeping everyone safe.
Finally, if and when the time arises for us to re-open, you will be the first to know. We will send formal communication by email and SMS. We will outline when you can access the timesheets, how far in advance and what rules will pertain to the use of competition times. Please watch your emails and phones for these updates.
In the meantime, and until our next update, please stay safe and be well.
