Please remember in your thoughts two of our members who have passed away recently.
Bernie Shinnors from Leixlip. Bernie was a great sports lady and she excelled in the golf like she did in the camogie and all sports that she participated in. She was a former Vice-Principal at Straffan National School and retired in 2015. During her time there she trained and coached many boys and girls in hurling and camogie. She travelled up and down Kildare with school teams and was well known everywhere she went. In addition to that, she also brought some of her pupils to the K Club for golf lessons as part of their PE Class. She was a great club lady and gave loads of assistance around Kilcock Golf Club.
The other member James ( Jim ) O’Neill., who passed away on the 15th May. James was one of our early members when the club commenced in 1984. He also served as President of the Club. Everyone in the club said he was a perfect gentleman and always had a good word for people he met. James also did Santa for us in the club for a number of years
He was made an Honorary Member of Kilcock Golf Club in the last few years and was very appreciative of the honour bestowed on him.
We on behalf of Kilcock Golf Club offer our sincere sympathies to their bereaved families and may they both rest in peace.
David Bohan, Eileen O’Toole
